Cookie Policy

Last updated: 18 April 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Bunjee Platforms Ltd (trading as Smart Alarms, Company No. 14213818, ICO registration ZB510934) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on smart-alarms.co.uk. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data collected through these technologies.

We operate a strict opt-in model: no analytics or advertising cookies are placed on your device unless you explicitly select “Accept All” on the consent banner displayed on your first visit to this Website.

1. About Cookies

1.1

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website server when you visit that website. Cookies allow the website to recognise your device on return visits and to remember certain information about your session or preferences.

1.2

In addition to conventional browser cookies, we use related technologies including pixel tags (small invisible images embedded in web pages that communicate with third-party servers upon loading) and local storage (data stored directly within your browser rather than transmitted as a cookie). These technologies are subject to the same consent controls as cookies.

1.3

The cookies we use fall into three categories: Strictly Necessary, Performance and Analytics, and Targeting and Advertising. Each category is described in sections 2 to 4 below.

2. Strictly Necessary Cookies

2.1

Strictly Necessary

2.2

Strictly necessary cookies are indispensable to the operation of this Website. They enable core functions including form submission processing, contact record deduplication, and the storage of your consent decision. Because these cookies are essential, they are activated regardless of your consent choice and cannot be disabled through our cookie banner. They collect no information used for advertising and do not track your activity across other websites.

3. Performance and Analytics Cookies

3.1

Performance — Consent Required

3.2

Performance cookies collect anonymised or aggregated information about how visitors use this Website, including which pages are visited most frequently, how long sessions last, and from which sources traffic originates. This data is used solely to improve the Website and its content. Performance cookies are only activated where you have consented by selecting “Accept All” on our consent banner.

3.3

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — provided by Google LLC. We use GA4 to analyse visitor behaviour on this Website. To ensure maximum user privacy, we have actively disabled Google Signals, User-Provided Data Collection, Granular Location tracking, and all Ads Personalisation features within Google Analytics. GA4 collects strictly aggregated, anonymised data. Furthermore, we have configured our analytics data retention to definitively delete all user and event data after 2 months (60 days), and this retention period does not reset upon new user activity.

3.4

We implement Google Consent Mode v2, which governs the four independent consent signals that determine the scope of Google's data collection and processing: analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization. All four signals are set to denied by default and are only upgraded to granted upon the User's acceptance of cookies. Google processes data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy.

4. Targeting and Advertising Cookies

4.1

Targeting — Consent Required

4.2

Targeting and advertising cookies are used to measure the effectiveness of our paid advertising campaigns and to enable the delivery of relevant advertising to users on third-party platforms. These cookies are only activated where you have consented by selecting “Accept All” on our consent banner. If you select “Deny”, none of the technologies described in this section will be loaded or activated.

4.3

Meta Pixel — provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.

4.4

The Meta Pixel is a piece of JavaScript code embedded in this Website that enables us to:

  • measure the efficiency and reach of our paid advertising campaigns running on Meta's platforms, including Facebook and Instagram;
  • track conversion events — specifically, the completion of our property security audit form — to understand which advertisements generate customer enquiries;
  • build anonymous audience profiles based on Website interactions, enabling us to deliver relevant advertisements to users who have previously demonstrated an interest in smart home security services on Meta's advertising network; and
  • construct “lookalike audiences” — cohorts of new users sharing behavioural characteristics with previous visitors — to extend our advertising reach to prospective customers in a targeted and cost-efficient manner.
4.5

Where a User submits an Enquiry and marketing consent is active, we transmit cryptographically hashed (SHA-256) versions of the User's name, email address, telephone number, and postcode to Meta via Manual Advanced Matching. The SHA-256 algorithm converts personal data into an irreversible fixed-length code before transmission; Meta uses this data solely for the purpose of matching the conversion event to a Meta user account for measurement and attribution purposes. This processing is carried out in accordance with Meta's Data Policy.
